This Odd Creature Was Saved From Under A Bed, But What Was It?

Transformation

A Facebook post from the shelter read, “Our Medical team shaved off the pounds of intertwined fur from her body and, needless to say, this cat is feeling so much better now!” Actually, she was a full two pounds lighter due to the loss of fur.
Extensive amounts of furs. There must have been a lot of matting for it to grow that long. At the shelter, the indomitable Hidey held two records: furiest cat and heaviest cat. But alas, Hidey had made it this far without a place to call home.

Finally Home

Now that the vet has released Hidey, she and Siam have found a permanent home with the Russells, who also have three other cats and two dogs, and of whom the Russels are understandably quite pleased.
Hidey’s true identity has yet to be revealed, but he appears to be enjoying life without his fluffy coat. Whether she will trust humans again remains to be seen, but she gets to enjoy a happy and healthy life while she decides.

Not A Monster

The years of neglect took a toll on Hidey however. “She’s been hiding under the bed for the last couple of days,” explained Russell.
I’ve been taking her for walks and cuddling her; she’s been very vocal about her approval. My cat has been sleeping in a cat bed instead of under the bed for the past few days. So she’s starting to work her way to see people more.”
