Doctors Can’t Believe What’s Happening While This Woman Is Giving Birth

Ending Summer with a Bang

The Ziesemers were finishing up their summer with some incredible news: they were expecting their first child!

Nicole’s due date was January 30, 2018, so she learned of her pregnancy late in the game. Only five months were given to the expectant parents to prepare for their new arrival.

However, this wasn’t the only bit of late-breaking information about their child that the Michigan couple received. They were about to hear some information that nobody could have predicted.

Getting Closer to the Big Day

Unbeknownst to them, the Thanksgiving season had arrived, and with the impending birth of their child, they had something to be thankful for. They knew the arrival of their child was imminent, with only weeks to go.

There were just two months until the due date, so the couple had to get everything ready. What they really needed was a baby crib, a baby seat, and some adorable baby outfits.

And that wasn’t all that the couple prepared for.

Natural Birth

While Nicole and Matt were busy stocking their home with baby essentials, they were also completing the birth plan’s final details.

In an effort to limit their exposure to medical professionals, they opted for a home birth with no interventions. The expecting parents sought out the services of a midwife to aid in preparations for and the actual birth of their child.

Holiday Sickness

Moreover, Nicole didn’t feel well throughout the week leading up to Christmas.

“Nicole was sick for three days with the flu… She hadn’t had anything to eat or drink since Sunday, and she hadn’t slept much since then, either,” Matt wrote on Facebook.

Although the illness was a concern, it wasn’t the only one the couple had.

Nicole was experiencing severe stomach pains in addition to feeling ill, exhausted, and unable to eat. Two days after that Friday, she finally understood what was going on with her body.
